The work Nude is obviously unfinished. It reflects, simultaneously, in-depth knowledge of 19th century Italian painting and the eroticism of the nudes featured in the Salons of Paris at the end of the century. In any case, it has nothing whatsoever to do with the varied field of impressionist nudes, from Degas to Renoir. On the contrary, it would be interesting to approximate it to the Italian environment predicated on the great international exhibitions of the Roman Sezession (1913-196), and notedly Italian artists such as Alfredo Pratti and Adolfo Busi, who belonged in a generation that succeeded Visconti’s.
