Curated by Isabella Rjeille, curator, MASP.

Carolina Caycedo’s (Colombian, born in London, UK, in 1978) body of work includes photography, installation, video, performance, and drawing. It constitutes a meeting point between knowledge and practices ranging from contemporary art to ancestral riverine knowledge and the resistance strategies of Latin American social movements. Caycedo’s migratory experiences inform her work and reflect the symbolic and cultural relationships we establish with the world. Often working collaboratively, Caycedo seeks to reconstruct a communal memory of shared resources, including urban public spaces, rivers, and mountains. This exhibition provides a comprehensive overview of her work and showcases recent creations developed within the Brazilian context, which engage with other Latin American contexts and their diaspora. The title refers to the convergence of waterways and the meeting of people, ideas, and cultures.
