TEXTS

The work July Wind and Sunlight is included in the painter’s attempts to capture the affectionate expression of the elements. A similar work started in 1943, Early Winter Twilight, tried to express, as Burchfield stated –“the threat of approaching winter”. Because of its theme and style, the work should be dated from the same years.
