Comtesse Elisabeth-Sophie-Constance, daughter of Field Marshal Woldemar de Lowendhal, the model of Portrait of Elisabeth-Sophie-Constance de Lowendhal, Turpin de Crissé, was born in Estonia in 1745 and died in Paris in 1785. She married Comte Lancelot Turpin de Crissé et Estany in 1759. One of the well-known Parisian bureaux d’esprit relied on her patronage.
