Collages, sometimes done as an aid to his engravings on metal, for Piza pose another angle to engraving experiments, which invariably revolve around the subject of expressing a highly-developed feeling for form and spatial order in the phenomenology of material. Retour is the matrix for an engraving, really a sculpture in relief, showing precise intuition of the rhythmic-affective interplay of forms in space.
